Always Kabhi Kabhi Music Album Review – Cherishing College Numbers

Being a Red Chillies’ Production Movie (Shahrukh Khan himself involved), one obviously have good expectations from Movie and so from it’s Music. Music album is composed by Pritam Chakraborty and two others namely Aashish Rego and Shree D.

Irfan Siddique is lyricist for most of the songs in association with Roshan Abbas who is apparently Director of the movie and one track by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

always kabhi kabhi Music Review

Album begins with title song which you may heard on promos called “Always Kabhi Kabhi” sung by Bhavin Dhanak, Sanahmoidutty and Apeksha Dandekar. Song isn’t catchy but soon you will start liking it on repeated hearing. Sufi voice in between adds spice to the song however.

You don’t my Frequency, why can’t you just let me free goes the chorus of the second song called “Antenna” sung by Benny Dayal, Roshan Abbas and Apeksha Dandekar. What attracted me in this song is Lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya composed by Pritam. In beginning, sounds like a Rap song with funky lyrics which will surely grab attraction of youths.

School ke Din begins with Ishq Bector’s rap and the song will remind you of memories of good old School days. Lyrics are quite realistic and I guess many of you will start relating your life with it. Music however is not new but it just goes with flow.

Next track is a Girlish song sung by Sunidhi Chauhan called “Better not Mess with me” reminds me of song called Hey ya from Kidnap. It’s typically racy and brimming with attitude due to the electronic touch to the song. There’s another club mix version of this track sung by Shefali Alvaris. Song describes the attitude of girl and some may find it interesting but to be honest, I didn’t feel like listening to a ROCK music.

Undi the condi is next track which I guess is picturized during some college event / celebration but isn’t remarkable and sound like just another old college number. It’s a duet by Shaan and Aditi Singh Sharma with okie dokie lyrics by Irfan Siddique.

Song to be noticed from this complete album is “Jaane Kyon” with awesome Music composition and Lyrics resulting into a soulful track. This surely makes an instantaneous impact on first hearing. Sufi version by Shafaqat Amanat Ali Khan is again appreciable as a soft number of album.

Album ends with Unplugged version of Always Kabhi Kabhi which is mostly in English with nice music design and Lyrics. Chorus singing “Tu meri Justajoo” at the end is cherishing.

To conclude, I would say it is not a complete disappointment but one should not expect much and you will enjoy the album. Though none of the tracks are path breaking but some of the worth listening tracks would be Jaane Kyon, School ke Din and Antenna.
